Allaa Barri Speaks to Zaina Erhaim an Independent Journalist about local resistance in Syria.


Zaina Erhaim was born in Idlib, Syria and educated in Damascus. In 2011 she was studying for a degree in journalism in London when the Syrian civil war broke out. She spent two years as a broadcast journalist with the BBC before joining the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) and returning to northern Syria. She has been working with IWPR reporting as the Syria project coordinator then senior media specialist for the last 4 years, trained more than 100 media activists on journalism basics inside Syria and made a series of short films named Syria Rebellious Women and Syria diaries told by its women.
